\u201cHard tissue reconstruction of edentulous ridges using the GBR approach, utilizing a splitthickness flap design using non-resorbable and resorbable membranes combined with autogenous bone and xenografts\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract: Hard tissue deficiencies represent common drawbacks in periodontology and implant dentistry. Threedimensional loss of alveolar hard tissues may result in conditions with impaired function, esthetics and cleansibility. The surgical reconstruction of such anomalies may present challenges for clinicians. To avoid, reduce or reconstruct any unfavorable deformations, several surgical techniques and graft types may be applied to compensate for horizontal – and vertical bone loss, following inflammatory processes, failed implants, or hard tissue augmentations. The success of such corrections is of high importance, especially when harmonious peri-implant bony environment similar to the periodontal architecture of adjacent teeth is necessary for long term tissue stability and aesthetics. The event will focus on application of hard tissue grafting biomaterials as well as surgical concepts utilizing a split thickness flap design feasible to recreate lost hard tissues around dental implants.<\/p>\n

\u201eSoft tissues management around teeth\u201c
\n<\/strong>
\nAbstract: Treatment of gingival recession has become an important therapeutic issue due to the increasing number of cosmetic request from patients. Patients aesthetic demand, due to the exposure, during smiling or function, of portions of the root surface, is the main indication for root coverage surgical procedures. Very often the most coronal millimeter\/s of the root exposure is the only visible part of the recession when smiling, therefore the presence and\/or the persistence after therapy, even of a shallow recession may be an aesthetic problem for the patient. Thus, complete root coverage, up to the cemento-enamel junction, is the goal to be achieved when patient complains about the aesthetic appearance of his\/her teeth. New knowledge in soft tissue surgical management permits to achieve esthetic coverage in gingival recession with minimally invasive connective tissue grafts or collagen matrices.<\/p>\n

Abstract: Gingival recession affecting lower incisors is a frequent clinical scenario, but it represents one of the most challenging procedure. Lack of keratinized tissue, frenulum pull, reduced vestibulum depth are the anatomic conditions that should be surgically overcome to obtain complete root coverage. The coronally advanced technique with the connective tissue graft require some modifications that will be step by step described. Another difficult condition is the treatment of Soft tissue dehiscence around implants. The appearance of the metallic structure or even their transparency through the thin buccal soft tissues are common reasons for patient aesthetic complains. Moreover, bad implant installation frequently results in excessive apical dislocation of the buccal soft tissue margin of the implant supported crown. Soft tissue plastic surgical procedures and bilaminar techniques in particular, can be successfully used in combination with a pre and postsurgical prosthetic approaches to increase the volume of the interdental soft tissue, to treat buccal gingival recessions and soft tissue dehiscence around dental implants and to provide the new implant supported crown with aesthetic transmucosal emergency profile.<\/p>\n
