Int J Mol Sci. 2023 Apr 6;24(7):6833.<\/p>\n<p>Original Title: Analyses of the Cellular Interactions between the Ossification of Collagen-Based Barrier Membranes and the Underlying Bone Defects<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The goal of the study was to investigate the effect of Jason<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> membrane on the osseous regeneration of the covered bone defects. It was further the aim to analyze and quantify the ossifying process of the pericardium membrane, i.e. the transition of the membrane into vital bone.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Methods<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Surgically created rat calvaria defects were filled with cerabone<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> +HyA or were left untreated without bone graft. In both groups the defects were covered with Jason\u00ae membrane and the sites were sutured. Histological and histomorphometrical analyses of the augmented sites including the membrane areas were performed two-, eight- and 16-weeks post-augmentation.
