WHI (Wound Healing index) scores increased steadily from the first postoperative week, achieving excellent healing in all patients by three months and remaining stable thereafter. Patient-reported pain and quality-of-life outcomes remained favorable throughout the observation period.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p><strong>AIM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">Aim of the study was to evaluate the <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">soft tissue healing<\/strong> after post-extractive alveolar ridge reconstruction using a <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">resorbable pure magnesium solution (<a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/novamag-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NOVAMag<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> SHIELD<\/a>)<\/strong> combined with <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/cerabone-hya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cerabone<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> +HyA<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/mucoderm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">mucoderm<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>. The study specifically assessed mucosal healing using the <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">Wound Healing Index (WHI)<\/strong> and also evaluated postoperative pain and oral health-related quality of life (via VAS scale and OHIP-14).<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p><strong>STUDY RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">This prospective observational pilot study enrolled 5 patients requiring tooth extraction and delayed implant placement. The alveolar ridge reconstruction was performed in a combined approach using <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\"><a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/novamag-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NOVAMag<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> SHIELD<\/a><\/strong> together with <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/cerabone-hya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cerabone<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> +HyA<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/mucoderm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">mucoderm<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>. Follow-up check-ups were done 7, 14, 30, 90, and 180 days after surgery. Primary outcomes included assessment of the soft tissue healing assessed using the <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">Wound Healing Index (WHI);<\/strong> secondary outcome variables were postoperative pain (VAS scale) and oral health-related quality of life (OHIP-14).<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p><strong>RESULTS<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">SOFT TISSUE HEALING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">The mean WHI score was <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">4.4 \u00b1 0.8<\/strong> at 7 days and increased to <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">4.8 \u00b1 0.4<\/strong> at 14 days. It then reached <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">5.0 \u00b1 0.0 (excellent healing)<\/strong> by 90 days and excellent healing was maintained through the 180-day follow-up.<\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">Only one patient experienced partial wound dehiscence (membrane exposure), but the wound healed spontaneously. No infection, graft loss, flap necrosis, or membrane removal was required. Complete epithelialization was achieved during follow-up.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">PATIENT-REPORTED OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">The mean pain score (VAS) at 7 days was <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">1.86 \u00b1 1.89 cm<\/strong>, indicating minimal postoperative pain. The mean OHIP-14 score was <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">20.8 \u00b1 5.23<\/strong>, indicating only a moderate and temporary impact on quality of life. No serious adverse events related to the biomaterials or surgical procedure were reported.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-6\"><p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">CONLUSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">This pilot study suggests that alveolar ridge reconstruction using <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\"><a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/novamag-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NOVAMag<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> SHIELD<\/a><\/strong> as part of a combined regenerative approach with <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/cerabone-hya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cerabone<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> +HyA<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/mucoderm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">mucoderm<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><\/a> is clinically feasible and supports favorable soft tissue healing. <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/mucoderm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\">mucoderm<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><\/a> likely provided a protective biological interface that shielded wound margins from mechanical irritation and supported re-epithelialization, potentially contributing to the favorable WHI scores from day 7. <a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/cerabone-hya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cerabone<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> +HyA<\/strong><\/a> maintained socket volume and stabilized the clot, indirectly supporting wound closure, while <strong data-prosemirror-content-type=\"mark\" data-prosemirror-mark-name=\"strong\"><a href=\"https:\/\/botiss.com\/product\/novamag-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NOVAMag<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> SHIELD<\/a><\/strong> fulfilled its space-maintaining and GBR barrier function while generating a locally favorable microenvironment through progressive degradation.<\/p>\n<p data-prosemirror-content-type=\"node\" data-prosemirror-node-name=\"paragraph\" data-prosemirror-node-block=\"true\">Healing progressed consistently, with all patients showing excellent mucosal healing by 3 months and maintaining stable results at 6 months. Even one single case of wound dehiscence healed without complications.
