Diagnostic CBCT indicated a residual vestibular-palatal alveolar thickness of 2 mm in the edentulous premolar area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TREATMENT<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A two-staged implant therapy was performed comprising a lateral bone block augmentation using maxgraft<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> cancellous block covered with a collagen membrane followed by implant placement in positions 13 and 14 after 5 months of augmentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OUTCOME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clinically, the graft appeared well integrated and the defect was properly reconstructed. CBCT scans taken before and 5 months after augmentation revealed a substantial horizontal bone gain of 8.0 mm. Two bone level implants (\u00d8 4.1 \u00d7 10 mm) were placed in the ideal prosthetic position with torque values 35 and 40 N\/cm respectively, indicating the adequate primary stability of the implants. Radiographical evaluation of marginal bone levels and soft tissue conditions showed a stable situation at the 3-year post-restoration follow-up.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"awb-gallery-wrapper
