Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants. 2020 Sep\/Oct;35(5):917-923.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This study was carried out by a team of clinicians and researchers from University of Zaragoza, University of Oviedo, University of Salamanca (Spain), led by internationally renowned Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gruber, Professor for Oral Biology at the University Clinic of Dentistry, Medical University of Vienna (Austria). His 100+ scientific articles focus, among other topics, on: Cell biology related to periodontal and periimplant changes in various clinical settings; correlations of age, systemic diseases and medications in dentistry. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gruber is board member of the Osteology Foundation and the German Society of Osteology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The goal of the study was to evaluate different compression forces on the consolidation of cerabone\u00ae using an in vivo calvarial model.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_2_3 2_3 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:66.666666666667%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:4%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:0px;--awb-spacing-left-large:0%;--awb-width-medium:66.666666666667%;--awb-spacing-right-medium:4%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:0%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-spacing-right-small:0%;--awb-spacing-left-small:0%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-column-has-shadow fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h4><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Methods: <\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Titanium cylinders, fixed on the calvarium of New Zealand rabbits, were filled with cerabone\u00ae granules applying a compression force of 0.7 kg\/cm2 or 1.6 kg\/cm2. A handheld device with a spring was used to control the compression force. Sites were covered with Jason\u00ae membrane and after six weeks, histomorphometry of the area adjacent to the calvaria bone and to the collagen membrane respectively, was performed.
