Dr Konstantinos Loukas qualified as a dentist in 2000 and then embarked upon a two-year residency at the Dental School of Athens as a clinical instructor supervising students in the prosthetic department. At the same time, he served in the Airforce military hospital of Athens performing general and prosthetic dentistry. Between 2008 and 2012 he completed a postgraduate training course in Bristol and Bath leading to an MSc in Dental Implantology. His specialist area of research during this study was on implant complications. Between 2017-2018, he completed an implant residency at the University of Bern working with Professor Daniel Buser and Professor Thomas von Arx. Apart his residency, he completed the well known advanced Bern master classes in GBR, Sinus Lift, and Implant complications. In 2018, he continued his studies to undertake a PhD in Prosthodontics and is currently engaged in postgraduate research for Implant Prosthodontics at the University College London, Eastman Dental Institute. In 2019 he completed the Regenerator program with Professor Urban for complex vertical augmentation procedures. The last 13 years in the UK, he has placed and restored over 4000 Straumann implants, with a practically perfect integration, success and survival rate. His target is to build large bone volumes around his implants and to make sure that implants have lasting durability. He has an extensive experience with complex cases and sees and treats a high volume of implant complications on a regular basis. He is an official Straumann UK mentor , where he trains and mentors other dentists. He is an ITI registered speaker and a director of the ITI study Club for Bournemouth & Poole. He is principal in two private offices with focus on implant dentistry, and bone regeneration.
