SURGERY
Dr. Lázaro demonstrates the handling and stepwise application of cerabone® blocks for bone augmentation in the anterior maxilla.
Dr. Lázaro is specialist in periodontics and ITI fellow. Since 1999, he maintains a practice limited to periodontics and implant surgery in Madrid, Spain.
Prior flap preparation the bone blocks were cut to shape using a diamond disc. The flap was prepared, and the prepared blocks were fixated at the recipient site using osteosynthesis screws. Gap augmentation was performed using small cerabone® granules. Finally, the bone blocks were covered by two permamem® membranes according to the principles of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR), which were fixated by titanium pin, and the flap was sutured to achieve primary wound closure.
