HANDLING VIDEO
With the aim to preserve the alveolar socket after buccal wall resorption, the shield technique performed with NOVAMag® membrane is introduced. In this video, the easy handling of the NOVAMag® membrane is shown with a step-by-step demonstration on a model jaw.
NOVAMag® membrane is made from pure magnesium metal and is completely resorbable. It is also characterized by exceptional strength during the healing phase and can withstand the pressure of the soft tissue, providing space for the bone graft.
After easily cutting and shaping the membrane to fit the defect with the NOVAMag® instruments, the membrane is tucked between the bone and soft tissue without additional fixation. The alveolar socket is filled with cerabone® plus and the top of the NOVAMag® membrane is bent over to cover the graft material. The soft tissue is then sutured closed.
