Description:
A patient presenting with multiple gingival recessions in the maxillary anterior and premolar regions was treated using a coronally advanced flap (CAF) in combination with the xenogeneic collagen matrix mucoderm®. In selected sites presenting more advanced soft tissue deficiencies, an additional connective tissue graft (CTG) was placed to enhance soft tissue thickness and optimize root coverage outcomes.
After flap elevation and root surface preparation, mucoderm® was adapted to the recipient sites and stabilized beneath the coronally advanced flap. In the region of teeth 13 and 14, a connective tissue graft was additionally placed to improve tissue volume and gingival stability. The surgical sites were subsequently coronally repositioned and sutured for tension-free wound closure.
The 5-year follow-up demonstrated stable root coverage, harmonious soft tissue integration, increased gingival thickness, and long-term volume stability, with highly satisfactory aesthetic outcomes.
