SURGERY
In this surgical video, Dr. Palombo demonstrates Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) at an implant site in the anterior zone. A systemically healthy patient presented with a residual root at tooth 21 under a Maryland bridge. Tooth extraction was performed atraumatically and implant placement was performed with guided surgery, to allow the achievement of a proper prosthetic emergence. Albeit the most coronal portion of the buccal bone was maintained, a considerable buccal fenestration was present. Bone regeneration was performed with a mixture of autogenous bone and cerabone® plus, stabilized with Jason® membrane and tacks. Finally, submerged healing was applied by advancing the flap to achieve first intention closure.
