Following the extraction of a tooth, bone augmentation was required to facilitate optimal healing and prevent bone resorption. The site was carefully prepared to ensure a clean and stable environment for guided bone regeneration. To support bone regeneration and maintain the socket’s structure, NOVAMag^® SHIELD was selected. This resorbable magnesium-based Shield provided a protective barrier, preventing soft tissue ingrowth while promoting new bone formation.

NOVAMag^® SHIELD was tucked in between the soft tissue and bone without fixation. To promote effective bone regeneration, cerabone^® was applied. At the final step, NOVAMag^® SHIELD was folded over the socket, completely covering the grafting material. The wound was stabilized with sutures, leaving the SHIELD intentionally exposed.
