LECTURE
Time of implant, front tooth replacement, esthetics, immediate implant, immediate loading and socketshield technique.
The sixth module will focus on front tooth replacement and how to ensure maximum esthetic results. To begin with, determining the timing of implantation is crucial, especially if the element has not yet been extracted. Based on the three-dimensional image, we may choose to retain the socket. An alternative is immediate implantation after extraction, but this is only possible under certain conditions. The socketshield technique (also called partial extraction therapy or root membrane) is a modern technique that preserves a buccal shield of the radix. A third option is early implant placement with bone remodeling. The location of the implant in relation to the crown and bone is the first step.
In addition, both white (crown) and pink (mucosa) aesthetics must be in order. The outcome of this is determined by the thickness of the mucosa, gingival line and papillae. By working with a temporary crown, these can be brought into proper proportions. This can be done both after immediate implant placement and simultaneously with the second stage of surgery.
