OBJECTIVES
– Understand the biology and type of defect
– Understand the anatomy of the surgical area
– Understand the biology and use of biomaterials
– Learn the surgical principles of both horizontal and vertical bone augmentation
– Learn surgical principles of soft tissue reconstruction to increase keratinised tissue around implants and newly generated bone
DAY 1 – MAY 9 |
– Patient selection, biology, types of defects and biomaterials |
– Implant placement in the aesthetic zone – intact socket and socket defect |
– Soft tissue handling, anterior aesthetic zone, horizontal augmentation cheese burger technique |
– Hands-on: flap design, horizontal augmentation with bio-gide, CTG harvesting and suturing (classical graft), periosteo – elastic technique |
DAY 2 – MAY 10 |
– Applied anatomy anterior maxilla |
– Sausage technique anterior maxilla |
– Sausage technique posterior maxilla |
– Soft tissue, suturing technique |
– Complications |
– Hands-on: flap design, horizontal augmentation, periosteal suturing technique, CTG harvesting & suturing (Zucchelli Technique), plastic model training |
DAY 3 – JULY 11 |
– Vertical augmentation – anterior maxilla |
– Consent and applied anatomy – mandible |
– Vertical augmentation – posterior maxilla |
– Soft tissue – part 2 |
– Hands-on: flap design, vertical augmentation PTFE membrane, CTG harvesting and fixing, periosteo – elastic technique, perioplasty, orbicularis muscle extention and suturing |
– Case presentation from delegates and discussion |
DAY 4 – JULY 12 |
– Vertical augmentation – posterior mandible |
– Sausage technique mandible |
– Flap design in the maxilla and mandible with models |

– Hands-on – soft tissue: coronally repositioned flap, strip graft, mucograft, and FGG |
