Abstract: Bone & Soft Tissue Management of Advanced & Complex Implant Cases
Managing advanced implant cases requires careful diagnosis, risk assessment, and treatment planning. This course will explore contemporary approaches to challenging extraction sockets and advanced ridge deficiencies, with a focus on predictable and minimally invasive treatment strategies.
The course will examine decision-making between immediate implant placement and socket grafting, considering factors such as bone integrity, soft-tissue phenotype, infection, implant stability, positioning, and aesthetic risk. Particular emphasis will be placed on the use of NOVAMag®, a rigid and resorbable magnesium membrane, in immediate placement and socket grafting. This contemporary approach challenges some traditional treatment concepts and offers the potential for effective tissue preservation with less invasive surgery.
The management of advanced horizontal and vertical ridge deficiencies using NOVAMag® will also be presented, including grafting principles, space maintenance, membrane stabilisation, and clinical protocols. Clinical cases will demonstrate how this technology can simplify complex regeneration while avoiding the need for membrane removal.
Overall, the course will highlight how contemporary biomaterials and minimally invasive techniques can challenge conventional approaches and expand the possibilities for predictable management of complex implant cases.
Hands-On: Mastering NOVAMag®: Correct Techniques and Clinical Applications in Implant Dentistry
This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to practical and contemporary applications of NovaMag, a rigid and resorbable magnesium membrane, for managing extraction sockets and advanced alveolar ridge deficiencies.
Part 1 – Flapless Socket Grafting Using NOVAMag® SHIELD :
Participants will learn the principles and clinical workflow of flapless socket grafting using the NOVAMag® SHIELD , focusing on atraumatic extraction, graft placement, membrane positioning and stabilisation, and preservation of the soft-tissue architecture.
Part 2 – NovaMag Plate Technique for Staged Bone Grafting:
The second part will demonstrate the use of the NOVAMag® Plate for staged horizontal and vertical bone augmentation. Participants will explore flap design, defect preparation, graft selection, plate adaptation and fixation, and principles of space maintenance.
The workshop will combine clinical concepts with hands-on training, providing participants with practical techniques to incorporate NOVAMag® into minimally invasive and predictable regenerative protocols in implant dentistry.
