SURGERY
Dr Markus Schlee performs bone augmentation in the lower left and lower right mandible using customized allogenic bone blocks (maxgraft® bonebuilder).
Dr Schlee is specialized in Implantology, Periodontology, Microdentistry and Esthetic Dentistry. He is member of the European Centers for Dental Implantology (ECDI), European Dental Association (EDA) and American Association of Periodontology (AAP).
He explains the surgical treatment of block grafting with customized bone blocks step-by-step. Following presentation of the bone defect, two maxgraft® bonebuilder blocks are rehydrated and fixed with screws for osteosynthesis on either side of the mandible for ridge augmentation. A bovine bone substitute (cerabone®) is used to cover the bone blocks. A barrier membrane (Jason® membrane) and PRF matrices are used to cover the augmented site for Guided Bone Regeneration. For a good clinical outcome, proper soft-tissue mobilization and tension-free, saliva-proof wound closure are essential.
