Shell Technique – Are Allogeneic Plates a Viable Alternative to the Autologous Gold Standard?

In this workshop, Dr. Tunkel will illustrate different therapeutic modalities of the bone shell technique concerning safety, feasibility, complication frequency
and outcome prognosis.

The focus will be on the replacement of autologous bone harvesting procedures by using allogeneic materials as well as by combining various augmentative
options (membranes, bovine bone substitutes, hyaluronic acid and allogeneic materials) in different clinical situations.

In the practical exercise on models, participants will learn how to perform 3D augmentations using cortical plates in the most efficient and safest approach.
