Prof. Kumar Nettemu is serving in the position of Professor and Head for the Department of Periodontics & Oral Implantology and is the Director for Centre of Dental Excellence (CoDE) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Manipal University College Malaysia. Under the CoDE, he is also the Co-ordinator for the ICOI affiliated Fellowship in Oral Implantology post graduate certificate programme. He heads the short courses at CoDE, aimed at educating and empowering the general dental practitioners across Malaysia and South-East Asia, in various niche areas in the field of Dentistry. Besides numerous fellow and memberships in dental associations, Prof. Kumar Nettemu has been working passionately and extensively in the field of Oral Implantology since numerous years and is currently holding the prestigious position as the ICOI Director and Membership Chairman for India and ASEAN Nations. He widely practices the use of various hard and soft tissue augmentation techniques for implant site preparation in achieving finer esthetics, restore function and enhance patient comfort and published numerous papers. His focus remains, the harmonization of soft and hard tissues around dental implants and he is currently working towards patenting his own surgical technique and implant design.
