Treatment of gingival recession has become an important therapeutic procedure due to the increasing number of esthetic demand from patients. The coronally advanced flap surgical technique has been demonstrated to achieve complete root coverage in most of the patients irrespective of the number of recessions treated in each intervention.

The hands-on course led by Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli and Dr. Martina Stefanini is planned and designed to develop the periodontal surgical skills of the participants. In addition, the use of an acellular dermal matrix will be also discussed. Each procedure is trained step by step with live demonstrations on pig jaws.

The workshop will enable participants to:
– perform flap design for the treatment of single and multiple recession defects and split-full-split flap elevation
– learn connective tissue graft harvesting techniques
– use of acellular dermal matrices for recession coverage
– deepen the knowledge of suturing techniques
